our pledge
Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of our brand's values.
We aim to be globally recognised as a top-quality manufacturer known for our eco-friendly approach to growth, sustainability and packaging.
As Royal Warrant holders we are grateful for the support of HM King Charles III in continuing to achieve our environmental goals.
Our factory building is set in the heart of Wales and is home to both hand operated and electric powered machinery. We are extremely proud that all of our energy is from a 100% renewable source.
Our on site solar panels generate up to 80% of our electricity with the rest contributed by wind farms. We have installed EV car chargers and promote electric cars for business use.
Demand from consumers for high quality knitted goods fits neatly with the global need to utilize renewable materials such as cotton, wool and cashmere yarn rather than deplete finite ones.
The yarn industry also provides essential employment and capital for both third world and developed countries. Almost all of the yarn we use are natural fibres sourced from the UK or Italy.
By investing in new machinery we aim to increase efficiencies and reduce environmental impact. For example, as part of our finishing process our goods are washed and pressed. Our new pressurised steam washing machine cuts our previous wash time of 20 minutes down to 2 minutes. This increases output, reduces time and cost but most importantly saves energy and water.
As part of our commitment to being an eco-friendly brand we use polybags made from sugar cane, sourced from the leading UK packaging experts. Polyair is a new technology which uses sugar cane waste making it a carbon neutral product and 100% recyclable.
Our cardboard shipping boxes consist of a minimum of 80% recycled material. They are made from reinforced single wall cardboard meaning they have double strength but use less material. These are just some of the ways we hope to transform our packaging into a positive element of our product that our customers can enjoy.
We are thrilled to supply our local community park project with weekly supplies of shredded cardboard and left over threads which are used to make homemade compost for their vegetable patch and gardens.
At Corgi, sustainability is woven into everything we do. From harnessing solar energy at our Welsh factory, to carefully sourcing responsible yarns, refining processes to reduce waste, and using recyclable packaging, we are committed to making choices that protect our planet. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern responsibility, we ensure that every pair of socks and every piece of knitwear is made with care—for you, and for the world we share.
